Sevan provides program management services to Kroger in Michigan for remodels and new builds of Kroger Fuel Centers. In 2014, 7 sites were completed. The 2015 program includes 12 more fuel centers in Michigan.
Many of the fuel centers are raze and rebuild projects where an existing building must be demolished and the site prepared for new use. Coordination of demolition, site utilities and permitting is key to the success of these projects.
Sevan has met the challenges resulting from the range of requirements inherent in these sites, including compliance with wetlands restrictions and a broad variety of codes and laws administered by multiple jurisdictions.
Unexpected circumstances are the norm in these projects, ranging from the request to incorporate an outdoor sales pavilion for seasonal nursery sales, to providing a living screen between residential and commercial areas which required conducting the necessary negotiations with local residential owners. Because of the many Kroger sites that are adjacent to residential areas, Sevan has maximized design and rendering capabilities to provide great solutions that have won the approval of local zoning boards and residential groups.
